October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please join us and participate in these free events and programs held throughout the month to raise awareness. Join the effort to end domestic violence!

This class is designed to support and enhance personal growth, emphasizing skill building, strengthening sensitivity, communication, stress management, and conflict resolution.

  • Oct. 26, 2019 (8 a.m.) - Walking Away from Domestic Violence

Army Community Services and the Family Advocacy Program are partnering with the Fort George Meade 5K Run Series to promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The zero tolerance initiative is to help eliminate domestic violence in our military community. There will be a free one mile walk from 8-9 a.m. for all participants supporting Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Pre-registration is required.

  • Oct. 28, 2019 (1-3 p.m.) - The 5 Love Languages

Registered participants will receive free educational material, resource information and training on a range of topics including:

  • Increasing effectiveness, awareness, and appreciation in the relationship
  • Changing habitual patterns of communication to discover and recognize your partner's primary Love Language
  • Awareness of feelings of love, appreciation, understanding, valuing, and respect for each other
