Sports & Fitness Program provides Team Sports, Individual Sports, Fitness and Health Programs and programming in the Child Development Centers, School Age and Youth Programs. Pre-registration is required for Sports & Fitness programs. Children and Youth that are currently registered in CYS Services can be enrolled in Sports & Fitness using WebTrac.
Sports Physical
A sports-specific physical must be completed annually, prior to the start of the sports season. The form must be completed with a doctor’s signature and stamp and submitted to Parent Central Services during registration. Hint: The best time to get your child’s physical, if possible, is in July so your child’s physical will be valid for all sports for one full year.

NAYS Rate Your Coach
As a Chapter of the National Alliance for Youth Sports, we have the ability to implement the NYSCA "Rate Your Coach" feature. This valuable feature allows our coaches a chance to receive feedback from parents anonymously. We believe this is a great tool that helps our volunteers reach their coaching potential. However, this resource only works with your participation.
Since parent evaluations are anonymous to the coaches, parents can provide honest feedback without fear of backlash or repercussion. The coach will only see their overall score in each category. Honest and timely feedback is crucial to helping coaches identify the areas that need work, or building their confidence by learning what skills they excel at.
Please click here to Rate Your Coach.
After clicking this link, parents will need to enter the coach's NYSCA six-digit member number and complete the coach evaluation. Please contact the youth sports office or your coach to obtain this number.
NAYS Press Box
The Press Box is a free weekly e-newsletter bringing you the latest news stories in youth sports, research on youth athlete safety and wellness, and more. Stories are carefully curated to bring subscribers only the best quality content and news. To sign up for the Press Box, please visit https://www.nays.org/resources/more/free-e-newsletters/.
NAYS Sporting Kid Live
We encourage all of our parents and coaches to visit www.nays.org/sklive/ and read about current events in youth sports.
LetsTalkSports.Nays.Org
Let's Talk Sports is a free and fun activity for you and the Family created by The National Alliance for Youth Sports. Let's Talk Sports is a great opportunity to understand the value of playing organized sports. It's a fun and rewarding program that goes over a number of life lessons learned through sports. If your young person answers the questions correctly then they qualify to be a "Certified Youth Sports Kid." Sports are the "outdoor classroom" to help your child develop leadership skills for a lifetime. Bring your child’s course completion certificate to the sports office and receive a free gift.
- Volunteer Coaches
-
Volunteer coaches are always needed. Volunteers are the backbone of all Youth Services sports programs. The sports fee for the first child will be waived if a parent is selected as a head coach.
Anyone who is interested in coaching, please contact the CYS Sports Office at +1(301)677-5502. All coaches are required to complete a background check and attend coaches’ certification training. Dates and times of certification will be provided if you are chosen to coach a team.
Head coaches will get all of their children to play for free. Assistant coaches get 1 child for free and all others a 15% discount.
Volunteer hours will be kept for those seeking "job experience."

The Fort Meade CYS Sports and Fitness program provides a wide range of opportunities for participation in team sports and outdoor activities. The program emphasizes fun, fundamentals, maximum participation and physical conditioning, rather than winning or losing. In compliance with the Boys and Girls Club of America we inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
